Location: It is bounded on the North by Ini Local Government Area, South by Abak and Uyo Local Government Areas, East by Itu and West by Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area. It has a landmass of 407.16 square kilometres.

Barr David Michael Udoh

He hails from Oduk village, in Ikono Local Government Area and was born on 15th March 1967. He attended three primary schools for his primary education, namely, Primary School, Manta/lkot Okumfang, Abak, from 1973 to 1977; Araromi Baptist School, Lagos, from 1977 t01978; and Primary School, Iwukem, Etim Ekpo LGA, from 1978 to 1979.

For his secondary education, he attended the Holy Family College, Oku Abak, from 1980 to 1984.
Between 1989 and 1992, he read Law at the University of Uyo, and was called to the Bar in 1993.
He did the NYSC with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Abuja from 1993 to 1994. Between 1994 and 1996 he worked as legal adviser and company secretary at TATEC Group of Companies, Apapa, Lagos. From 1996 to 2004, he was principal solicitor at Emmanuel Chambers, Abuja, and also served as company secretary/legal adviser at Nichim Construction Ltd., from 2004 to 2005. He was Director, Special Projects in 2006, and moved to David Udoh and Co, Ikot Ekpene, to be principal solicitor, from 2006.

While in the University he distinguished himself politically. He was secretary general, Students` Union Government, in 1990, and two-time president, Students` Union Government, from 1991 to 1992 at the University of Uyo.

Other leadership positions and political appointments Hon. Udoh held include the following: director of administration, Obasanjo/Atiku Campaign Organization, Akwa Ibom State (2003); member, Presidential Monitoring Team for Census, 2006; member, Election Monitoring Team in all the elections, 2007; founding secretary/trustee, Akwa Ibom Grassroots Mandate (AGM), from 2005 till date. Barr Udoh also attended several seminars on Youth Leadership and Training, Youths in the 21st Century, Land Use Act, a Blessing or a Curse, and Peace and Good Government for Democratic Consolidation in Nigeria, across the country.

He is happily married to Favour and the marriage is blessed with three children. His hobbies include singing, table tennis, and travelling.
