Rt. Hon. Godwin Ekpo
He hails from Ikot Akpan Obong village in Utit Obio, and was born on 1 st January 1967. He had his primary education at Utit Obio Central School, Ikot Inyang, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.
In 1993, he gained admission into Ediene Bible College, Nung Idio Ediene, in Ikono LGA, and successfully completed his secondary education in 1999. Between 2000 and 2002, he studied Business Studies at the Akwa Ibom Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, and obtained a National Diploma.
In 2003, he was also admitted into the same institution to read Business Administration and he graduated with the Higher National Diploma, HND, in 2006.
His working experience spans across many years in the private sector. He had been the Executive Director of Ekpo Ekpo Ventures Nig. Ltd, a petroleum marketing firm with office in Port Harcourt refinery.
He also served as the Executive Director of Cheers Electronics, along Umuahia Road, Ikot Ekpene.
In politics too, his name and face are familiar. Obong Ekpo had served as the Transition Chairman in 2003.
During that tenure he accomplished much within a short time. For instance, he constructed the permanent secretariat for Ibiono Ibom, brought light to Ibiono Ibom, and employed up to 64 sons and daughters of the Local Government Area, all in a short term of five months.
He also succeeded in settling the traditional issues that ensured the emergence of the present paramount ruler to be selected during that short tenure.
He is happily married with four children. His hobbies include football and music.
