Akwa Ibom seems so exciting to both Akwa Ibomites, neighbors,
visitors, and foreigners, but you have to understand just how deep it had sunk in the
recent past. Past disappointments also explain some things about Akwa Ibom which
outsiders sometimes find hard to fathom; its faith in the wisdom of the present
administration, the surety that the Godswill Akpabio lead administration will deliver
on its promises and her strong determination to support the present for the future.
Based on
Chief Godswill Akpabio’s vision for Akwa Ibom State which is an empowered populace
and a private sector-driven economy that will act as a catalyst to Nigeria`s industrial
revolution, the Ibom Power Plant promise cannot be overemphasized. The necessity
arose to connect the whole 31 state local governments to the national grid. It was
like a chain reaction specially induced for the good of Akwa Ibom.
Iin 2008, Electrification became a top priority of the state government and an inter-ministerial
project committee under the headship of the commissioner of Finance, pursued the electrification projects with much dynamism.

two was added to Etim Ekpo and now they have 10, Etinan’s 13 installations was increased
