AKS Government Embarked on Minor Cabinet Reshuffling

The Akwa Ibom State governor, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, has effected a minor cabinet reshuffling in the State executive council. This change was effected last week Friday following the resignation of four members of the state executive council to enable them participate in the forthcoming elections in other arms and tiers of government.

In the new cabinet arrangement, Mr. John Harry, former commissioner for Youth and Sports, moves to the Ministry of Environment, while Obong Eno Akpan, former commissioner for Ministry of Environment takes charge of Ministry of Agriculture.

Another commissioner with new portfolio is Pastor Oyong Asuquo, former commissioner for Rural Development is now taking charge of the Ministery of Youth and Sports and Mr. Sunny Anyang, a new Commissioner is assigned the Ministery of Rural Development.

Others who were assigned positions are Mr. Austine Mbeh, a new commissioner who takes charge of the culture and Tourism Ministery, Mr. Godwin Udom is appointed a new special adviser and takes charge of bureau of Cooperative Development. The Bureau of Labour and Productivity has been merged with public services matters with Elder Sunny Akpadiaha as Special Adviser.
