AKS Industrialisation Sees Better Days Ahead ...Monarchs

Some traditional rulers in Ikot Ekpene local government area have expressed hope that the second term industrialization policy of Governor Godswill Akpabio will create jobs for the people and make the economy vibrant.
While commending the governor for laying the foundation for industrialization of the state through massive road construction and power supply, the monarchs of Uruk Uso village said they looked forward to the revamping of the sunshine batteries Ikot Ekpene as well as the establishment of additional cottage industries to absorb the teeming unemployed school leavers in Ikot Ekpene LGA.
In an interview with Newsmen, the village head of Uruk Uso in Ikot Ekpene LGA, Eteidung Essien Akpan Okorie said Ikot Ekpene will become an economic hub with the construction of Ikot Ekpene, Abak Road, Afaha Obong - Etim Ekpo-Ika-Iwuken Road, Ekom Iman-Ekim road by Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency chief Godswill Akpabio.
He added that the Ibom International Airport completed by the present administration and other projects have empowered the people and reduced poverty.
Eteidung Okorie also expressed the belief that the calibre of people from Ikot Ekpene serving in Governor Akpabio’s cabinet will acquit themselves as development strategists and achievers.
According to him, the commissioner for works, Mr Don Etim, member House of assembly representing Ikot Ekpene / Obot Akara, Mr Nsikak Ekong, Permanent Secretary, Mr Wisdom Ekpo will all do Ikot Ekpene proud in the roles they are expected to play in government.
Also speaking, a family head in Uruk Uso, Obong Akpan Udobong expressed happiness with the compassionate disposition of the Akwa Ibom First Lady Mrs Ekaette Unoma Akpabio.
He appreciated the First Lady’s unprecedented efforts towards improving the socio economic well being of women, widows, children and the less privileged in Akwa Ibom state.
